The app is local by design
CrossOff stores your projects, tasks, notes, dates, and preferences in a SQLite database on your device. The application does not require an account and never sends this workspace data to us. It works fully offline.
The app contacts getcrossoff.com in only two situations: to validate your licence key (at activation, and occasionally afterwards to confirm it is still valid), and to check whether a newer version is available. The update check fetches a small public file, transmits nothing about you or your work, and can be turned off in the app under Data & updates. There is no telemetry of any kind.
No advertising or analytics in the app
The CrossOff application contains no advertising SDKs, behavioral analytics, or tracking pixels. Your operating system and any store or update service you use may process technical information under their own policies.
What this website processes
This website (getcrossoff.com) exists to describe CrossOff and sell a license. When you buy, we and our processors handle a limited set of information:
- Payment & billing. Checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and any billing/tax information required to complete the sale. We never see or store your full card number.
- Email address. We receive the email you use at checkout so we can deliver your license key and respond to support requests.
- License records. We store your license key together with your purchase email and Stripe identifiers so we can validate and, where necessary, re-issue or revoke a key.
Website traffic measurement
To understand how this website performs, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-first, cookieless measurement tool. It sets no cookies, uses no cross-site tracking or fingerprinting, and shows us only aggregate numbers (page views, referrers, country-level location). It cannot identify you, and none of it applies to the CrossOff application itself, which contains no analytics at all.
Email delivery
We use a transactional email provider to send your license key and any purchase-related messages. We do not send marketing email unless you separately opt in.
Legal basis & purpose
We process the above to perform our contract with you (delivering the software and license you purchased), to comply with tax and accounting obligations, and for the legitimate interest of preventing fraud and abuse of licenses.
When you contact support
If you email support, we receive your email address and anything you choose to include. We use that information only to respond, diagnose the issue, and maintain appropriate support records. Please do not send passwords or sensitive task content.
Retention and deletion
Your workspace remains on your device until you delete it or remove the application data. License and purchase records are retained as long as needed to support your license and to meet legal and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your support correspondence and, subject to those obligations, your purchase records.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise them, email [email protected].
